The State Public Health and Veterinary Service (ÁNTSZ) has declared Demjen a health resort.

The settlement was the thirty-fourth to be included in the list of Hungarian health resorts under the name of Demjeni Gyógyvölgy!

The water, which rises from a depth of 690 metres and has a temperature of 68 degrees Celsius, is sodium-calcium-bicarbonate, hard fluoride, sulphur thermal water with a high iron and silicic acid content. It stimulates blood circulation and can also be used to relieve joint pain. It helps with osteoporosis, bone injuries and gout, but it can also be used as a post-operative treatment for orthopaedic surgery and is a miracle cure for inflammation.
